The Song of Ribbit Ribbit (Stories for ages 3 to 5)

Once upon a time, there was a happy garden filled with yellow sunflowers.
In the middle of the garden, there was a wooden log. Three little frogs lived inside the log. They loved to sleep all day long!
Every day, the bright sun came out. The tall sunflowers turned their heads to the sky and sang, "La-la-la! We love you, Sun, and your sunshine!" But the three little frogs just closed their eyes and went back to sleep.

One morning, a sunflower looked down at the log. She asked, "Little frogs, why don't you listen to our sunny song?"
One green frog replied, "We do not like the sun, and we do not like sunny songs!"
"Then what do you like?" she asked. The frog smiled and said, "We love the rain and to splash, splash, splash in the water!"
The sunflower said, "If you love the rain, listen closely next time. Perhaps the rain has its own special song!" The frogs nodded their heads and fell back asleep.

Next day, big grey clouds came. Drip, drop, drip, drop! The rain began to fall! The three frogs came out of the log.

After going a little far, one frog said," Hey, listen, friends, the rain made music on the leaves! Tip-tap-tip-tap-tap-tap! ''The other frogs listened carefully.
"We hear it! We hear the rain song!" they cheered and jumped up and down with joy.

Then all three frogs sang together: ''Rain is the best, splash, splash, splash! It taps on the leaves with a tip-tap-tap!
One of them sang like: Rain is best...R-I-B...
Because it taps...B-I-T...
Ribbit! Ribbit!" And they splashed happily all day long!
From that day on, whenever the frogs miss the rain, they sing Ribbit! Ribbit! Ribbit!
